In order to thrive, a community needs a Vision and a Plan. A sense of place in the world, declared values, a path forward. In conjunction with Yavapai County's Comprehensive Plan Update, the Village of Oak Creek and Big Park region are currently developing an official Vision Statement and Community Plan.
Unlike incorporated areas, we do not have funding or staff to undertake the work necessary for our Community Vision Statement and Community Plan. But we do have time, treasure, and extraordinarily capable and directly relevant talent in this community. Our community needs your involvement -NOW.
The County's Comprehensive 10- Year Plan will be formally adopted in 2023. The goal for our Community Plan is November 2021 adoption.
In late 2020, an ad hoc committee was formed through the Big Park Regional Coordinating Council to work with the citizens and businesses to develop a vision and plan. The committee is comprised of 17 core members and more than 35 contributing community members. We report monthly at the Big Park Council meetings, publish our progress in The Villager newspaper, and email regularly to our subscriber list in an effort to keep the entire community informed and engaged. You will find the committee's activities posted on this site, as well as various ways for you to provide input.
By subscribing to our email list (top of this page) you will receive our polls, notice of events, and learn about various opportunities to participate.
This is your community plan - your voice and involvement are needed!
